What this space is all about

If you’re already here, I assume you might have taken a glimpse at my blog, and I’m more than happy about your visit!

The reason to start this blog?

So, the reason to start this blog is simply my love for cinema — I just can’t stop talking about it! Perhaps, there are also other reasons, as I would like to change the perception that’s around cinema and criticisms.

What I like the most about cinema is that it is one of the powerful art forms which could evoke critical thinking among a large set of audience effortlessly. Like, throughout human history, such art forms have been used to make people more rational and empathetic. It is also one of the few mediums we often form a deep connection with and the reason is, some way or the other it reflects our lives, even if it’s a fantasy!

But in recent times, cinema is considered only an entertaining medium – I strongly feel that this should change as it would make movie-watching more artificial. Moreover, I also feel that creators who only focus on triggering instant dopamine take the audience for granted.

What you could expect as a reader?

So, the reviews that I share here will evaluate how far a film is genuine and how far it connects with the audience, including all the artistic elements. I would try to review under-rated movies along with popular ones. I feel that this would make movie-watching more interesting and also change the wrong perception of cinema. Moreover, this would also normalise criticisms — at the end of the day, they are nothing but ‘evaluation’.

Also, to make it reader focussed, I’ve included reading time in each of the reviews. Additionally, I would like to emphasize that the reviews would work for both parties: those who have already watched the film and those who haven’t. So, in most scenarios, you don’t have to worry about the spoilers!

And, if you’ve read any one of my reviews and loved it, do not forget to like, comment and also share the link with your people. Also, if you find anything misleading, something you disagree with or something that could be improved, drop them in the comments!

LONG LIVE ART; LONG LIVE CINEMA!
